Connecting things up: first cut

A short post tonight, because I actually managed to spend much of the day learning and using some much-needed mastering skills, and time is at a premium. First item: take a look at the first comment on the previous post -- I managed to create a self-contained iPad setup that will stream out whatever you play on it to a Shoutcast or Icecast- based Internet radio station like Radio Spiral or electro-music.com. Mastering tutorials?

Went looking for a good mastering tutorial to post today, and I've concluded that there's just too much to know there. Although Izotope-centric, this one isn't bad (and might translate to systems using other plugins. Also, I found this idiosyncratic example that is pretty useful if you work in Linux (mostly for the way it revealed my ignorance of the range of high-end plugins available).

Really big pads

The invaluable Doug Woods shows the way, using Lagrange and a couple of FX apps I did not know about. I suspect Blackhole would work just as well. Great Microfreak resource

I don't yet own an Arturia Microfreak, but... everybody I know who has one love the damn thing, no exceptions.
